"Every morning I get up and I can't decide whether I want to save the world or savor it.
Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult."

god exists 12/27/07
young parents
swelling with life,
expanding, releasing, witnessing birth.
we say: god! a miracle!
Young child feeling acceptance, mothers hand
protection, fathers arm
accepting universe
feeling a soft hand
“I am alive.” – protected.
goD !
youth struggling with new and strange thoughts, shame,
forgiveness/ separate from parent/ at one with parent
universe as parent
forgive me. gOD!
life happens: joy, grief, happiness, disappointment,
health/ illness, wealth/ poverty
rejection and grace
making sense of life
Oh…GOD!
Facing the end.
Body tired, agelines cut through a worn body,
Breath/ life… all I have known.
end? what is end?
Oh …god!
IN MEMORIUM
they were here
They must exist…
feelings were here
exist where?
Feelings of god/ Gods… here today
Where now?
MAY GOD REST IN PEACE
As our feelings touch stardust… and make way for new gods to exist.

Did ever a man try heroism, magnanimity, truth, sincerity, and find that there was no advantage in them -- that it was a vain endeavor?

Exist
Sign cries out, “living as if god exists”
silence exists, atoms, the void
Matter, chemicals collide, gases swell
Timeless ebb and flow
Gases and suns explode flying into the darkness
dying and giving raw material for birth
heat… heat cooling, freezing, collisions of matter
light, electricity, gravity, moisture
clouds, rain and more & more
matter washes back and forth, sand, soil
oceans, lightning, thermal vents
in the creative soup cells change to life
cells evolve, life adapts to harshness
uncounted species evolve, adapt, reproduce, live and die
species form community/ rules evolve to protect
rites evolve to gain favor with unexplained forces… the gods.
Gaps in imperfect knowledge are bridged by belief and faith.
Life creates what it has power to create
new life, beauty, art, speech and within it
are the seeds of its own existence
and eventual non-existence.
A grain of sand/ a life lived
Some grains small/ some a little bigger
and the grains return
they exist
Living to die/ living to exist
Exist and then….exist as change overcomes /atoms change
and they
EXIST.

Let it Go

Let it GoCopyright 2003 Corinne Curcio
Time’s sand
Let it go
Open your hand as it slips thru your fingers
Lost youth
Let it go
A moment of truth, not a fancy that lingers
Cruel taunt
Let it go
Don’t let it haunt all your days
Angry wall
Let it go
Brick by brick it falls away
The wounded heart you think beyond repair
Can leave you in the canyons of despair
Don’t dwell in that lonely land too long
Let it go, and you will know where you belong
Let it go
Winter freeze
Let it go
Summer breeze will soon come again
Dark cloud
Let it go
Simply allowed to drift on the wind
Don’t hold tight, let your kite fly free
You never know where it might lead
Don’t grieve as it soars out of sight
Let it go and watch your dreams take flight
Let it go
Yesterday
Let it go
Far away from your door
Caged bird
Let it go
A new song’s heard on a distant shore

"Existentialism is nothing else but an attempt to draw the full conclusions from a consistently atheistic position. Its intention is not in the least that of plunging men into despair. And if by despair one means as the Christians do – any attitude of unbelief, the despair of the existentialists is something different.Existentialism is not atheist in the sense that it would exhaust itself in demonstrations of the non-existence of God. It declares, rather, that even if God existed that would make no difference from its point of view. Not that we believe God does exist, but we think that the real problem is not that of His existence; what man needs is to find himself again andto understand that nothing can save him from himself, not even a valid proof of the existence of God. In this sense existentialism is optimistic. It is a doctrine of action, and it is only by self-deception,by confining their own despair with ours that Christians can describe us as without hope."

NEVER AGAIN THE SAME
Speaking of sunsets, last night's was shocking.I mean, sunsets aren't supposed to frighten you, are they?Well, this one was terrifying.Sure, it was beautiful, but far too beautiful. It wasn't natural. One climax followed another and then anotheruntil your knees went weak and you couldn't breathe. The colors were definitely not of this world, peaches dripping opium, pandemonium of tangerines, inferno of irises,Plutonian emeralds, all swirling and churning, swabbing, like it was playing with us,like we were nothing,as if our whole lives were a preparation for this, this for which nothing could have prepared us and for which we could not have been less prepared. The mockery of it all stung us bitterly. And when it was finally overwe whimpered and cried and howled. And then the streetlights came on as always and we looked into one another's eyes--ancient caves with still poolsand those little transparent fishwho have never seen even one ray of light. And the calm that returned to uswas not even our own.
